Description

An annual herb with that produces small white flowers, anise is native to regions of the Mediterranean, the Middle East and Asia. Its oil, which is extracted from its seeds, has a full, sweet and slightly spicy scent. The essential oil of anise contains anethole, a compound also found in licorice and fennel, which share notable similarities in fragrance.
